Welcome to Transform & Taste: A Journey of Lifestyle & Flavor

Welcome to Transform & Taste: A Journey of Lifestyle & Flavor

Introduction

Every new year brings a fresh start, but why do our grand plans and ambitions crumble by February? For me, this is the story of my life whether it be the beginning of a brand new year or my crazy self thinking I’m going to change right here and now. I need to hold myself accountable and what better way to do that, than to blog about it or post on social media; heck, even both!

What is Transform & Taste?

I’ve always wanted to have a lifestyle blog, but it just never seemed to pan out. Either life got in the way, I couldn’t narrow down to a specific niche, or I’d make up some crazy excuse of why it couldn’t be done. Obviously that is no longer the case as I have gotten this far.

I decided that Transform & Taste is going to be a general lifestyle blog where I share different things about my life, recipes I’ve tried and rated, and hopefully I can transform into a better version of myself along the way. Out are the days where bloggers say to be successful you need to niche down your blog. Well, I’m not here to be successful (although that would be nice). I am here just to share what my life is life and document events and happenings along the way.

About Me

I guess to really understand more about Transform & Taste is to get to know a little bit more about me. I’m not going to bore you with my whole life story, because I’m sure I’ll divulge stuff about my life along the way, so here is a quick snapshot:

I grew up in a family of first responders (dad, mom, me and 2 younger brothers, Brian & Glenn aka The Boys) 20 minutes outside of Philadelphia on the Jersey side. We’re extremely close and I like to compare us to the Reagan’s on Blue Bloods. Yes, we have Sunday Dinner together every Sunday. I married my husband in 2012 (also a first responder) and we had two beautiful fur babies. Sadly we lost our Ember the day after Thanksgiving last year.

You will learn that I am extremely close with my extended family and I pretty much talk to my cousins every single day.

Although I have a degree in Criminal Justice, I have been in the title insurance business since 2006. I was laid off last year decided to go into business on my own as a loan closer/mobile notary. I also do remove online notarization and I absolutely love it. My husband suffered a stroke in July of 2023 and is now fully disabled.

Random Facts:

  • Obsessed with Hugh Jackman, The Muppets, The Haunted Mansion (well, Disney in general but mostly the Haunted Mansion) and Halloween.
  • Two years before I “met” my best friend, we saw each other at the waterpark I worked at and remembered each other from that day even though we didn’t know each others names.
  • Was a 92%er before I  became a Swiftie.
  • I love all things crafting, but mostly designing stationary and making things on my silhouette.
  • Knew I was going to marry my husband a second after I met him.
  • Lived outside of Philadelphia my whole life and have never seen the Liberty Bell.
  • Would love to have a garden but am a killer of plants.
  • Huge advocate for mental health & very open about my own struggles with depression and anxiety

What to Expect

With this blog, you expect to see a bit into my life, but my main focuses will be:

Transform:

  • Home DIY & Renovation projects
  • Dealing with my mental health
  • Focusing on getting healthier and more into shape
  • Journey to hopefully have a panniculectomy done
  • Learning to style my hair & do my makeup like I’m not stuck in the early 2000.

Taste:

  • Post recipes I have found on Pinterest, link back to original recipe and rate the recipe after I have tried it
  • Try new restaurants and food in my area as a bariatric patient.

My Vision

My vision is simple… share my life transformations and tasting the different recipes or restaurants I may find along the way.

Conclusion

I hope you will join me on this new journey I a try to tackle my life from so many directions, physical, mental, home life, work life… etc… etc… etc…
